The limited edition 2020 Macquarie B2B Cap has landed
The 2020 Macquarie VB2B caps are in!
How great do our 2020 caps look! Huge thanks to our swim partner Engine Swim for these limited-edition beauties. This Sunday is the cut off for guaranteed cap delivery before the swim window opens so be sure to get your entry in ASAP (and definitely by Sunday).
Entries will remain open right up until Saturday 5th December but after next week we can’t guarantee your cap will arrive at your doorstep in time for your swim. (of course you can still swim! just not in your awesome cap)
If you live near Bronte Surf Club you are very welcome to come and collect from the office Monday to Friday 9am - 3pm. You can even nominate one person to collect on behalf of a group as long as everyone has completed their online entry.
Still a little unsure about exactly how the virtual swim works? See below for some FAQ's.

We are offering a Ladies and Mens version and a comprehensive size guide is provided. Orders placed before Saturday 5 December will be posted that week.
Is your Surf Club here?
We've been blown away by the number of Surf Club members around Australia that have signed up already! We've got representation from VIC, WA, SA, NSW & QLD.... but what about TAS & the NT?
If you, or your Surf Club isn't shown above, it's time to get a group together. Think about the different teams you could create, maybe even introduce a bit of friendly rivalry on numbers or swim times? Cadets, Patrol teams, Comp Teams, the options are endless.
Some groups have told us they are taking turns. With some members swimming while others provide Water Safety for the group and then they're swapping over. Perfect!
(our next newsletter will feature swim groups, so be sure to mention yours when you register)
Participating is as easy as...
1. Buddy up & Enter
Find some swim buddies aged 13+ and enter online.
Don't swim alone, in fact, the more the merrier!! Encourge your regular swim mates, surf club members, open water besties or family members to get on board and swap between swimming and providing swim support either onshore or alongside on surfcraft.
2. Choose a Distance & Location
Swim 500m, 1km or 2.2km (the B2B course distance). If you decide on the day of your swim that you'd like to change your distance, no problem at all. Do what works.
3. Swim anytime between Saturday 5 and Sunday 13 December 2020.
The event spans 9 days including 2 weekends so that you can complete your swim in the best possible conditions for your location.
Plan to swim early in the swim window so that you can reschedule if conditions are not favourable.
$5 from every entry to The Kids' Cancer Project
Did you know $5 from every single entry goes directly to our event charity partner The Kids' Cancer Project. You can choose to make an additional one off donation when you enter, or you can sign up to fundraise
HOW DO WE KNOW WHO THE WINNER IS?
This year the swim is all about participation. Because of they huge variety of locations and water condtions participants will be swimmming in, it would be impossible and unfair to identify an outright winner.
Yes I hear you, some of us are just a little bit competetive and that's part of the fun of the event. The easiest way to compete is with a group of friends doing the swim together - you could even work out a handicap system to make it a fair race. While you may not win a prize there is always bragging rights!
DO I HAVE TO RECORD MY TIME?
Proving your swim time isn't mandatory but rest assured there will be opportunity for you to post your time - if you choose to. Times posted will be listed on the B2B website and be grouped by age category, distance and swim type e.g. Pool, Ocean, Openwater (fresh)
We are currently working on the finer details, so keep an eye on our socials and the event newsletter for step by step instructions in the coming weeks.
HOW DO I PROVE I PARTICIPATED?
You can post your time (see above) but we really want to see you, where you swam and who you swam with! So post your photo's, a short video or a story on socials and be sure to include the #VB2B so we can re-share.
