In this edition of our B2B newsletter, we've got some great info on our random draw major prize, team entries, fundraising for kids with cancer and how to sign up for an ocean swim masterclass with legendary waterman Phil Clayton so be sure to read on!

We're less than six weeks out and entries are coming in thick and fast for the 21st annual Macquarie Bondi to Bronte Ocean Swim. So don't be the one left on the sidelines, choose your swim distance, challenge a few friends and get your entry in.

There's no better way to experience the iconic coastline between Bondi Beach and Bronte Beach than from the unique perspective of the ocean. You don't need to be hardcore to do this bucket list swim, as well as the Elite category and age groups we also offer a "Flippers, Friends and Family" wave for those that might need a bit of extra propulsion, or for Friends or Family that just want to swim together.

This year, for the very first time we've introduced a 5km option. This is one for the experienced swimmer and has a capped number of entries. An epic coastal swim out through the breaking waves at Bondi Beach, initially heading north to a turning buoy at Ben Buckler headland. You will then turn south to swim down the coast to Bronte, past the famed Bronte Reef before turning north to head back up the coast and return to the sand through the break at Bondi.

If Bronte's a beach too far, why not enter the challenging, but very achievable 1km Bondi Bay swim. The event is well known for our fantastic water safety team who will keep an eye on you, giving you words of encouragement or a high five along the way.

In it to win it? Everyone that completes the Bondi to Bronte is eligible to enter the Dash for Cash. A true spectacle to behold as some of the best male and female surf swimmers battle it out for short distance supremacy. It's a sprint out through the break at Bronte, round a buoy and back in for the "winner takes all" $500 male and female cash prize categories. One not to be missed!

Simply enter the 1km Bondi Bay Swim, the 2.4km Bondi to Bronte or the 5km Bondi-Bronte-Bondi online and you'll go into the draw to win a return trip for two people to the Gold Coast for the Cooly Classic Ocean Swim on April 10, 2022.
The Major Prize includes return flights, accommodation and swim entries into any distances.

Getting a team together for the Bondi to Bronte is great way to commit with the support (and possibly gentle persuasion) of a few friends. All you need is 4 swimmers, with their combined ages determining the team age category. Minimum age for B2B is 13 years on race day. Teams can be all male, all female, or mixed.

Under 90 years - combined ages must be between 52 - 89 years
e.g. 13yrs, 13yrs, 17yrs, 21 years = 64 years

90+ years - combined ages total 90 - 129yrs
e.g. 21yrs, 25yrs, 25yrs, 42 years = 113 years

130+ years - combined ages total 130 - 149yrs
e.g. 33yrs, 35yrs, 38yrs, 42 years = 148 years

150+ years - combined ages total 150 or more
e.g. 44yrs, 45yrs, 55yrs, 58 years = 202 years

PHIL CLAYTON READY TO RACE SESSIONS

New to Ocean Swimming? This is for you!

Phil Clayton & Co. are a leading open water training provider in Queensland. This year, in conjunction with our Swim Partner Engine Swim, we’re lucky to have Phil and his team hosting two ‘Ready to Race’ sessions on Saturday 19 March.

These sessions are an excellent opportunity to get expert coaching, tips & tricks in the same location as the main event on Sunday.

Have your questions answered before race day

Phil will discuss your warm-up, how to read conditions and use them to your advantage, race entry, race tactics, sighting and most importantly, he will be available to answer any questions you might have before race day.
